How to care your nails?


Look at your toe and fingernails. What do you see? Are they healthy looking and strong? Or do you find ridges, dents or areas of unusual colors and shapes? Taking proper care of nails not only adds beauty but also keep you healthy and hygienic. A big question to be answered is how to care your nails?


Here are some tips to help you.

1.    Regular clipping
Always trim nails regularly for both hands and toes. Cut them when they are too long for you. Otherwise, too long nails can tear and get caught on things. Worst of all, that can scratch thins. Always cut the nails with a sharp clipper. Round the nails slightly at the tips for high strength.

2.    Take balance diet
Healthy and balance diet play the vital role in proper growth and care of your nails. So always follow a balanced diet. Fragile nails are the result of diet deficiencies especially, iron and calcium. Take food rich in a liver, trim red meats, species of fish, soy products, beans, lentils, whole grain products, greens spinach, fresh vegetables, nuts, egg yolks, dry fruits etc.

3.    Clean properly
Dirty and unhygienic nails mean unhealthy nails. Cleanliness is the main gateway to be healthy. Use lemon juice mixture to clean the nails or you can also use soap and water mixture or toothpaste and lemon mixture to clean nails and remove stains.

4.    Massage your nails
Massage your nails regularly to keep them healthful. Use cotton ball dipped in the lemon solution and wash them. Also, you can dip your nails in olive oil for 10-15 minutes a day. Or you can also rub them with mustard oil slowly. This will make nails firm and radiant.

5.    Consult doctor
As soon as you find any kind of deformities or disorders in your nails, consult doctors or dermatologists without any delay. The disorders may be the change in nails colors or nails shape such as curved nails. Other may be bleeding, swelling or pains around nails or separation of nails from the skin, or thickening and thinning of nails.
